How We Give Back

The open isn’t just about gaming – it’s about building and helping our community. The BoLS Open is a not-for-profit organization. When we started on this journey one of our main goals was to give back to central Texas in some way. We looked to events like the NOVA Open, Chupacabracon, GenCon, and Gamers for Giving for inspiration, which is why we’ve chosen to donate to Dell Children’s Medical Center via ExtraLife this year.

DCMC serves over 46 counties with a level 1 trauma pediatric center with a critical transport crew on call in Austin, and clinics throughout central Texas, they offer an exceptional level of care for children and their families. Donations help make care more accessible, support their programs and helps them expand to help more kids –  like these kiddos.

We’re also fortunate to partner with TableWar Charities, which aims at support autistic people and their families – specifically funding educational advocacy that will help students get the assistance they need to be successful in school. Extra support from an advocate can make a world of difference not only in school but overall well being.

Every bit of sales from charity tickets goes to either of these two organizations. We’ve got raffles, painting competitions, and side games planned you can use you charity tickets to enter. The folks at TableWar are creating some awesome looking slam captains for the raffle, and stay tuned for more peeks at what we’re up to on FaceBook, Instagram, and Twitter.
